Fixes: #139

I took the liberty of removing unused imports while I was at it.

Screenshots of how it looks like for different themes:

Use styleGetBackground and styleGetForeground with the appropriate
StateType to apply the background and foreground colors.
Remove widgetModifyBg for making the background white for this to work.
This didn't have any effect on the background color anymore to begin
with but was overriding the colors for the other StateTypes.
